Artist Statement
As a designer, a large portion of my work is comprised of brand identities, packaging design, and posters. My work gravitates towards a less-is-more, minimal aesthetic. I often use of flat plains of color and geometric elements. I am also fascinated by the use of pattern and how it can visually communicate an energy. This same principle can be applied to color. I tend to choose neutrals and organic colors but have noticed that pops of bright colors have recently made an appearance in my work, providing a more modern dynamic. I am often inspired by wildlife and I find that themes of flora weave their way into my pieces. For example, my work “Keep On The Grass” is steeped in environmental undertones.
My goal is to communicate that I am visually literate and committed to my artistic development, that I am a competent designer, able to succeed in such a competitive field with talented counterparts.
