Abstract
This paper proposes a change in emphasis from a faith formation model of “sacramental preparation” for the sacraments of initiation, to “living the grace received” in those sacraments. This change better assists young people to nurture an intimate relationship with God, and live that relationship as missionary disciples. The paper examines disturbing social trends as the burning platform for change; the history of the confirmation in the Latin Church and other ecclesial communities; restoring the original order of the sacraments of initiation; and suggests key culture change actions and their implementation
