Description

The “Initiative Opens Doors” article from St. Norbert College Magazine’s Spring 2015 issue introduces a pioneering support program for students on the autism spectrum. Led by clinical psychologist Bruce Robertson, the initiative combines counseling, social skills training, and peer mentoring to help students navigate college life independently. Funded by a gift from alumni Camille and Todd Nicklaus, the program reflects a growing need for inclusive resources in higher education and offers sociology majors a unique hands-on internship experience, fostering advocacy, emotional regulation, and campus engagement for participating students.
