Abstract
Laurie Jo Reynolds uses art as a space to intervene in politics directly. She is an artist, policy advocate, and researcher who developed the concept of “Legislative Art,” an art practice that seeks to intervene in government systems to achieve concrete political change. She is an Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Illinois Chicago, and recipient of many awards including the Soros Justice Fellowship, A Blade of Grass Foundation Fellow, MacArthur Foundation X Grant, among others.
