ART 425
Description
This course focuses on basic techniques and materials in ceramic art and sculpture.
Ceramic processes and techniques have many variables and works may not turn out as
planned, but these experiences are most useful in helping us learn and grow. The projects
are intended to build skills, both conceptually and physically, so that you can grow your
skill sets. Critiques are useful and necessary aspects of the course that are intended as a
learning tool and are directed by the rubric for each project. The class will push you out
of your comfort zone sometimes and will require physical work that emphasizes
individual problem solving. Having a good attitude, learning by doing and working past
failures will help you to be successful in the class. Snoodle image forums and and
visiting artists help you to expand their knowledge.
