Abstract
Through the ages, happiness has been a targeted pursuit of humankind. Happiness, defined as living well, is a journey, not a destination. Self-introspection and the cultivation of supportive relationships are key to the pursuit of happiness because they help one understand herself or himself more deeply, and that insight allows one to be more intentional about living well. The advent of social media has complicated the search for happiness by co-opting time that should be spent on self-introspection and building supportive relationships
