Abstract
In March 2020, the CDC declared COVID-19 a pandemic, prompting the Archdiocese of Santa Fe to modify services. Many parishioners did not return post-pandemic, and attendance had already declined due to abuse scandals and a 2018 bankruptcy. To address these challenges, renewed evangelization is crucial.
This thesis examines the Archdiocese’s evangelization history and proposes a model based on the account of The Road to Emmaus found in the Gospel of Luke (24:13-34). It offers guidelines for diocesan and parish leadership to reengage the faithful.
