Abstract

Drawing upon much of the catechetical research which has been published in recent decades concerning the instructional methods that are most effective when teaching Scripture, the following introduction to the Old Testament is designed both to pique young people’s interest in reading the Bible and to inspire them spiritually as they grow in their faith. Utilizing pedagogical theories on supporting young people in their spiritual growth through dialogue and reflection, faith formation questions are built into each unit, which will help guide candidates as they apply these ancient lessons on living in the service of God to their own experiences.
