  New leadership at the St. Norbert College Parish comes with the departure of the Rev. John Tourangeau, O.Praem., ’81, pastor since 2012. The Rev. Jim Neilson, O.Praem., ’88 is to serve as administrator of the parish, with the Rev. Andrew Ciferni, O.Praem.,’64 serving as parochial vicar.

  With last month’s announcement of the United Nations sustainable development goals for the world came news that Victor Ochen would serve as Global Goals ambassador for peace and justice. In a busy year of travel, the Nobel Peace prize nominee found time last week to accept the title of St. Norbert Ambassador of Peace.

  On May 9, 2015, St. Norbert College’s men’s and women’s track-and-field teams made history by capturing conference championships—ending Monmouth College’s long reign—and sending a record eight athletes to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.

  A recent stay in Cambodia has prompted Tom Conner to initiate a Skype-facilitated program that connects students in Southeast Asian countries with speakers of English worldwide. The Cambodian language learners are now able to improve their fluency in English through weekly long-distance conversation practice with some 20 St. Norbert student volunteers and others recruited from universities in the United States and Saudi Arabia.

Called Meta-SWOT, the tool enhances the capabilities of a traditional SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis and is available to the world as a digital download.

  St. Norbert alumnus Vern Biever [Class of 1948] lived an enviable life. He created a job for himself that combined his lifelong passions of photography and football, leading to a sixty-year career as the official photographer of the Green Bay Packers. His credits include some of the most famous images of the Packers franchise and the National Football League.
